Organizational Supporters

Corporate, Foundation and Government Supporters

Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts is honored that businesses of all sizes and from many industries, as well as foundations and government agencies, choose to support our College and the students we serve.

Supporters make this choice for many different reasons, often reflecting their deep commitment to the fine arts, to quality higher education, to the next generation of fine artists, to the quality of life on the Connecticut shoreline, and pride in having Lyme Academy College as a centerpiece of the shoreline area’s rich cultural life.

There are many ways in which businesses and organizations choose to support the College. Some, like Smith Insurance of Niantic, Connecticut, have supported exhibitions of student work for many years. Others, like Dominion Nuclear Connecticut, support the Pre-College Program, allowing talented youth with limited financial resources to take advantage of studio instruction and portfolio review. Still others, like Essex Savings Bank, support the College through their Community Investment Program, based on votes of support from their customers.

A number of businesses, either directly through their company or through a related foundation like the Pfizer Foundation, match the gifts of their employees and retirees. Others, like All-Pro Automotive, support the Annual Campaign for Lyme Academy College. Some, like Axel Johnson Inc., have chosen to remember an honored employee through a memorial gift to the College. Others, like Liberty Bank, donate to student scholarships. Foundations such as Homeland Foundation, Inc. support the Chauncey Stillman Gallery, and government agencies such as the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism support exhibitions in our galleries.

Many businesses support the College’s annual scholarship fund-raising event. Some, like INNCOM international, inc., show their support as corporate sponsors. Others, like Gary Lewis Photography, make valuable in-kind donations. Still others, like Olde Mistick Village, show their support as advertisers, or, like Ceramica, donate valuable auction items.

The College recognizes these supporters in a number of ways: through listings on our College web site (with “hot links” to business web sites for those that choose it), at an annual Corporate Breakfast, through signage, on event invitations and directories, in advertising, in communications to our community of supporters, and in acknowledgment letters.

The College also strives to provide supporters with meaningful benefits.

Another meaningful type of support is volunteer participation. This can take two forms: joining with others in the business community to encourage support of the College through business-to-business contacts, and volunteer support by employees, individually or in groups, at the College.
