Upwards of 300 guests attended the annual ArtsBall at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts on June 4th—enjoying cocktails, dinner and dancing, and raising a record-breaking $425,000 for student scholarships.
It was the most successful ArtsBall in recent memory.
As part of the College’s 40th anniversary, the ArtsBall was launched on May 21st when forty well-known area artists, including College alumni, along with several of our students, painted en plein air at ten iconic private home settings. The artists donated their works to the silent auction at the ArtsBall, creating a gallery of local scenes that brought the College additional revenue nearing $38,000.
In the days after the ArtsBall, emails, phone calls and endless Facebook postings praised the event and generated a sense of community pride in the success not only of the ArtsBall but also of the College’s progress since the affiliation with the University of New Haven.
A special surprise of the ArtsBall “raise a paddle” for student scholarships was the University’s offer to match all contributions of $5,000 and above.
The entire College family expresses deep appreciation to all who attended the gala and those who went the extra mile as Patrons and supporters of the silent auction and the scholarship fund.
