The Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts is awarded upon completion of an intensive program with majors in drawing, painting, sculpture, and illustration. In the first three years of study, students are introduced to the core concepts and techniques of art making, rooted in the study of figurative and representational art. Throughout this process, students also develop the personal vision and creative process essential to the mature artist.
This evolution culminates in the Senior Studio, where, over the course of the senior year, students develop a body of work that reflects their individual interests, skills, and aesthetic sensibilities. With ongoing support and input from the faculty, students conceive of a project, execute it and present it within a set amount of time. The experience leads the students to synthesize and apply all they have learned, allowing us the opportunity to cultivate and celebrate their unique creative voices.
