About the Artist

Joe Standart is an award-winning, internationally renowned photographer whose successful campaigns for many of the world leading organizations have won him awards from The Andys, The One Show and many others.

Joe created a series of monumental public art exhibition/events under the name of Portrait of America, which have been featured in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Associated Press, Photo District News, and ABC News. Joe was a founding director of Photographers and Friends United Against Aids, which, in 1987, gathered 100 of the country’s leading photographers and inspired them to respond to the theme, ‘The Indomitable Spirit.” The resulting work was exhibited at ICP and sold at Sotheby’s, raising over $2 million for AIDS research.
