Plein Air Painting With Mark Boedges

Mark Boedges, Clear Blue Autumn

The workshop includes five intensive days of plein air painting from observation in a variety of scenic locations in and around Old Lyme, CT. Participants will have access to Lyme Academy College’s studios, and local cultural and arts institutions.

Mark will provide daily demonstrations on his versatile techniques for achieving a high level of realism while painting plein air. Participants will learn how to quickly and effectively use layering to suggest all manner of nature’s complexity, while simultaneously learning how to deal with the myriad challenges of painting outside. The workshop will end with a group critique on Friday afternoon.
