Stephenson Painting Selected for 2010 Contemporary Realism Biennial

An oil-on-panel painting titled Downtown Westerly by Susan Stephenson, Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing, has been selected for inclusion in the 2010 Contemporary Realism Biennial and will be exhibited at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art from September 3 to November 7, 2010. The Biennial is a national invitational and juried exhibition which highlights the strength and innovation of America’s current trends in realism. The painting was previously exhibited at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts at a faculty show. Stephenson earned her BFA from Louisiana Tech University and her MFA in Painting from Boston University. She was artist-in-residence at the Association for Visual Arts in Chattanooga, TN and at The Griffis Art Center in New London, CT. Stephenson recently received a Painting Fellowship from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts. Her work is in private and corporate collections throughout New England and the South. She and her husband reside in Westerly, RI
