Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts mourns the loss of former trustee Logan Clarke, Jr.

Logan Clarke, Jr., 83, who had a distinguished career in business and academia including service on the Board of Trustees of Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, has died. Clarke served on the Board of Trustees from 1997 to 2006 and was Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee from 1999 to 2006.

He was married to Kay Knight Clarke, an artist and Lyme Academy College alumna who earned her BFA in 2005.  He leaves four children, two stepchildren, a brother, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was known for his marvelous wit, great intelligence and ability to keep on point with an issue. After serving in the U. S. Army and graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Clarke held high-level posts in banking and higher education, and devoted significant time to nonprofit organizations.

A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 31 Main St., East Haddam, CT on Saturday, December 4 at 3pm.
