Chamber of Commerce Awards Scholarship to College Senior Van Franklin

Last Thursday, June 16, representatives of the Lyme-Old Lyme Chamber of Commerce presented a scholarship to Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts senior Van Franklin of Old Lyme to support his academic endeavors during his final year at the College. The scholarship was presented by the Chamber’s Scholarship Committee’s Chairman John Stratton who was joined by Chamber Treasurer and Old Lyme First Selectman Timothy Griswold. The award was made at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting held at Cherrystones Restaurant on Shore Rd. in Old Lyme. Franklin, who had also received an award from the Chamber the previous year, commented, “I feel privileged to be supported by the Lyme-Old Lyme Chamber of Commerce.  It [their support] has provided me with numerous opportunities, which would not otherwise have been possible.” ← Return to News
