Alice Sue Chism, Class of 2005 in sculpture, took second prize in the 2010 Grand Central Academy figure modeling competition. She won first place in the same competition in 2008 and first place in the National Sculpture Competition in 2000. She studied with and worked for accomplished sculptors Don and Sharon Gale at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts. Her childhood and early adulthood in Saudi Arabia and extensive travels around the world have had a profound influence on her sculptural aesthetic. Currently she teaches portrait and figure sculpture and sculptural anatomy at the Lyme Art Association in Old Lyme, CT and teaches workshops in equine sculpture and anatomy. She has received numerous commissions and her work appears in private collections throughout New England.
