SCHOLARSHIPS
The Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts – cited by the New
York Times as “having contributed to the renaissance of
representational art in America” – continues Old Lyme’s centuries-old tradition
of nurturing the work of America’s most promising artists.
Unfortunately, there exists a barrier that keeps far too many
talented and deserving students from accessing the wonderful
education that this art College offers.
Because it is a young art college, the Lyme Academy has a small and immature
endowment and little room in the operating budget to
offer scholarship support that will attract and retain the most
promising fine arts students in the country.
As we begin each academic year, we do so knowing full well that
a number of students who would have benefited from our education
have gone on to other art colleges solely because of our inability
to offer them a competitive financial package.
OUR CHALLENGE is to grow our Fine Art College’s
ability to provide financial support to our artistically gifted
applicants who otherwise would be unable to study with us. We
can – and will – do that by increasing both our
scholarship endowments and also annual scholarship support.
WHAT YOU CAN DO: If you’re interested
