VETERANS INFORMATION

The Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts is a Veterans eligible institution. If you are a veteran, you should first determine if you qualify for Educational Benefits, and then what your benefits will cover.
  • To determine your eligibility for Educational benefits complete the appropriate application form (VA Form 22-1990 or VA Form 22-5490) available on-line at WWW.GIBILL.VA.GOV. View education benefit eligibility information, current rates and answers to frequently asked questions, including the new Post-911 GI Bill (effective 8/01/2009).

  • You may also call a benefits counselor at 1-888-442-4551 (at prompt hit 1 to indicate touch-tone and then hit 0 to reach a VA counselor).
  • Most VA Forms for students concerning educational assistance can be downloaded from the education form section of the web-site.

For approved, in-state, residential training programs go to WWW.CTDHE.ORG

  • Initial Application for Educational Assistance or Request for a Change of Program or Place of Training are downloaded from our web-site.
  • For changes of direct-deposit arrangements call 877-838-2778.
  • For 1606, 1607 and Chapter 30 monthly verification of residential training completed during prior months of the awarded period of training, call our interactive voice-response system by touch-tone telephone at 877-823-2378 or by using the W.A.V.E. system at our web-site.
  • VA Work Study questions should be addressed to our Work-Study Unit at 716-857-3145, 3146 or 3147 or fax number 716-857-3192.
  • Send Chapter 31 (Vocational Rehabilitation) forms to the Hartford address.
  • Send all other VA Educational forms to the Buffalo address.
Telephone Verification of Enrollment - Just call 1-877-823-2378 and follow the prompts. Use of this system eliminates the need for the student to sign and return the VA Form 22-8979 every month.
Note:
If you did not receive a VA Form 22-8979 to complete, you will not be able to use the system because no monthly verification is required at this time.
