Its purpose will be to bring campus input to the strategic plans of the library and to ensure that these plans are in sync with campus wide planning. It has a dual reporting and advising function.

The appointed Chair of the library committee is to be the Librarian/Director. The Director of the Library will serve as the committee's permanent member. Further the library committee will be comprised of faculty members representing the various disciplines, a student representative, a standing member of the Board of Trustees and may also include campus staff.
